Updates from 4th grade! (10/25)
Updates and Reminders from 4th grade 10/25:
-Please have your children practice their multiplication facts! They need to know them randomly and quickly. Great resources are fact triangles, Sum Dog, and the Everyday Math Online website!
-4th graders will have a few tests this week:
- Spelling Unit 7 Test is Monday. Please remind your child to review the skill for the week, along with their Word Preview and Words to Learn words.
- Burch's class will test Math (Unit 3) on Wednesday, October 30, and Social Studies (Chapters 1-3) on Thursday, October 31.
- Bradner's/Palo's classes will test Social Studies (Chapters 1-3) on Wednesday, October 30, and Math (Unit 3) on Thursday, October 31.
-The morning of Halloween students will participate in a special math/science activity we like to call Gourdfest! Gourds have already been donated, so all we will need are ribbons, buttons, googlie eyes, foam shapes, tacky glue, and other crafty items to decorate gourds. Thank you in advance for your donations!
-The school-wide Halloween Parade is at 2pm on October 31. Our classroom parties will follow the parade. Parents who signed up at Open House to help with the Halloween Party are planning fun parties for our students! We try to keep this simple and fun!
-October Reading logs are due on November 1st! Just a reminder that your children need to read 400 minutes during the month of October. The children should be logging what they are reading and totaling each week. A parent signature is required on the bottom of the reading calendar. There is a link under "Important Links" on our 4th grade blog (http://hutchings4th.blogspot.com) if you need a blank copy of the Reading Calendar.
-Please make sure to log into PowerSchool regularly. The emails that are sent automatically do not contain checked off assignments or indicate which assignments are late/missing. The end of the quarter is Friday, November 1. Report Cards will go home with students on Friday, November 8.
Have a great weekend! :)
